Isomerism Types

There are two distinct types of catalysts used for Cg aromatics isomerization. These differ in the manner that EB is converted. The catalysts that are used to isomerize EB tend to have higher metal activity and larger-pore molecular sieve components capable of accommodating naphthenic species without cracking them. EB isomerization type catalysts tend to require more regular regenerations than EB dealkyla-... [Pg.496]

Reiter et al. (87T2497) could also differentiate between oxo-TPs and [4,3-a] isomers. (CO in TPs absorbs at 10-20 cm-1 higher wave numbers.) However, the influence of other substituents is more remarkable and consequently the IR spectra cannot be used in general for elucidation of the structure of the four isomeric types. [Pg.105]

If methanol is employed as reaction medium, quinolizines (e.g., 306) are not formed but relatively high yields of deep red 1 3-molar adducts from the quinoline and DMAD are obtainable.379 Two isomeric types of adducts are formed, which are called first and second red adducts because of their elution order on chromatography. These adducts proved extremely difficult to separate completely. A provisional structure (317), for which many geometrical isomers are possible, was put forward379 to account for the properties of the compounds, but an X-ray diffraction study has now shown that the... [Pg.396]

Isomerism types of isomerism in organic compounds, and we will cover them in detail in Chapter 5 (Stereochemistry). For now, we need to recognize the two large classes of isomers constitutional isomers and stereoisomers. [Pg.60]

Description Aromatics are produced from naphtha in the Aromizing section (1), and separated by conventional distillation. The xylene fraction is sent to the Eluxyl unit (2), which produces 99.9% paraxylene via simulated countercurrent adsorption. The PX-depleted raffinate is isomerized back to equilibrium in the isomerization section (3) with either EB dealkylation-type (XyMax) processes or EB isomerization-type (Oparis) catalysts. High-purity benzene and toluene are separated from non-aromatic compounds with extractive distillation (Morphylane ) processes (4). Toluene and C9 to Cn aromatics are converted to more valued benzene and mixed xylenes in the TransPlus process (5), leading to incremental paraxylene production. [Pg.127]

The relative rates of carbenium ion reactions in faujasite supercages appear to follow a sequence type A /3-scission > type A alkyl shift > type Bi /3-scission > type B2 /3-scission > type B (PCP) isomerization > type C /3-scission (298). Normal alkanes, therefore, are transformed via the B-type (PCP) isomerization into branched isomers, which undergo /3-scission only after the creation of two or three side chains in the carbon skeleton. [Pg.185]

The process of isomeric-type reorientation is assumed— that is, that process in which the reorientation of the transition dipole is due only to the isomeric change in shape and where the parameters, i.e., P and and... [Pg.77]

Upon UV irradiation, ethyl 5-amino-l-phenyl-l,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate (40) does not expel N2 to give ketenimines or aziridines. Instead, in the presence of triphenylene as photosensitizer, 40 is smoothly isomerized, as a first example of a photo-Dimroth rearrangement,163 to ethyl 5-anilino-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate (298).164 The mechanism is explained by a radical rearrangement, e.g., 2971-297III (cf. Scheme 81). This isomerization type was observed also with 5-amino-1,4-diphenyl-1,2,3-triazoles.165... [Pg.357]

Fraga [11] has also described an infrared thin-film area method for the analysis of styrene-butadiene copolymers. The integrated absorption area between 6.6 and 7.2 pm has been found to be essentially proportional to total bound butadiene, and is independent of the isomeric type of butadiene structure present. This method can be calibrated for bound styrene contents ranging from 25 to 100%. [Pg.76]
