Internal vs external

Internal vs. External Numbering-up Scaling-out of Elements or Devices... [Pg.6]

The use of internal standards is somewhat controversial.115 There is agreement that an internal standard may be used as a correction for injection volume or to correct for pipetting errors. If an internal standard is included before sample hydrolysis or derivatization, it must be verified that the recovery of the internal standard peak is highly predictable. Ideally, the internal standard is unaffected by sample handling. Using an internal standard to correct for adsorptive or chemical losses is not generally approved, since the concentration of the standard may be altered by the conditions of sample preparation. An example of internal vs. external standards is given in Chapter 4. [Pg.45]

Questions often arise regarding the relationship of internal vs. external suppliers, especially within large pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations, and the corresponding role of Quality and Compliance. Expectations for these organizational stmctures are discussed below. [Pg.332]

Referring to Fig. 37.1, note that the seal flush liquid enters the pump case between the rotating face (for internal assembly seals) and the back of the pump s impeller. The idea is for the relatively small flow of the seal flush liquid to flow back into the suction of the pump, and thus be returned to the process steam. (Incidentally, for external assembly seals, the fixed face is closer to the impeller. See reference 2 for details on internal vs. external assembly seals.)... [Pg.498]

Figure 11.6 classifies various activities according to the type of consequence relative to the task (natural vs. extra) and the task performer (internal vs. external). While these activities illustrate particular types of consequences available to motivate performance, the categorizations are neither mutually exclusive nor inclusive. Even the most straightforward task classifications, for example, can overlap with other categories, according to perceptions of the performer. [Pg.211]

Principle 22 Behavior is motivated by eight types of consequences positive vs. negative, natural vs. extra, and internal vs. external. [Pg.486]
