The following tables present data on average values of energy and nutrients for a range of feedstuffs likely to be used in organic poultry feeding (as-fed basis). Each feedstuff is listed under its International Feed Number (Harris, 1980), and definitions of the feedstuffs taken from AAFCO (2005) or CFIA (2007). [Pg.162]

Tray spacing should be increased, usually by 6 to 12 in, if vapor is present at the feed, or if large-diameter internal feed pipes are used (138,179,192, 207, 208, 354). This is particularly important if the feed tray is heavily loaded. [Pg.28]

Optimal functioning of RD depends largely on relevant process design, properly selected column internals, feed locations, placement of catalyst as well as on sufficient understanding of the process behavior. All this unavoidably necessitates application of well-working, reliable and adequate process models [4]. [Pg.323]

When a leak is detected after assembly or installation of an electrolyzer in its berth, it is necessary to determine which membrane is leaking. When an electrolyzer has external feed tubes to individual compartments, it is possible to disconnect the tubes and submerge their ends in a beaker of water, as above. Smaller electrolyzers with internal feed manifolds require a different approach. In the case of the FM1500, for example, testing involves the use of a standpipe to apply hydraulic pressure to the cathode side and observing leakage from the feed ports along the manifold. An endoscope is a convenient tool for this purpose. [Pg.1254]

A question arises why replacing the medium during incubation stimulates the synthesis of FSH Two possibilities were visualized either an internal feed-back by the FSH released into the medium on its synthesis or release, or the destruction of FRF during the incubation process. It seems from preliminary experiments that a rat pituitary extract added to the medium before incubation is capable of inhibiting the release of FSH under the action of FRF. The second hypothesis has not been tested until now and therefore can not be eliminated. [Pg.141]
