Internal configuration

The sti ong and weak interaction regions of the internal configuration space is divided into a certain number of spherical hypeiradial shells. The 2D diabatic... [Pg.213]

The process controller is the master of the process-control system. It accepts a set point and other inputs and generates an output or outputs that it computes from a rule or set of rules that are part of its internal configuration. The controller output seiwes as an input to another controller or, more often, as an input to a final control element. The final control element is the device that affects the flow in the piping system of the process. The final control element seiwes as an interface between the process controller and the process. Control valves and adjustable speed pumps are the principal types discussed. [Pg.775]

Most pumps that are used in hydraulic applications have a fixed displacement which cannot be changed except by replacing certain components. However, in some, it is possible to vary the size of the pumping chamber and thereby the displacement by means of external controls. Some unbalanced vane pumps and many piston units can be varied from maximum to zero delivery or even to reverse flow without modification to the pump s internal configuration. [Pg.596]

The internal configuration of a cyclone separator is relatively simple. Figure 47.2 illustrates a typical cross-section of a cyclone separator, which consists of the following segments ... [Pg.780]

The operation of fluidized beds is connected to fluid mechanics within the beds (Nicastro and Glicksman, 1984). For example, heat and mass transfer are greatly influenced by the solid and fluid flow patterns, which are in turn affected by the bed geometry and internal configuration. Consequently, a thorough knowledge of fluid dynamics is a prerequisite to the successful design of a commercial unit. [Pg.541]

In view of these results and the internal configuration of this vessel, the flow pattern is not simple. It is interesting to compare the results obtained from the tracer response tests with these calculated for the two singleparameter flow models discussed in Part 1 of th s article (OGJ, Dec. 19). [Pg.198]

Since the internal configurations of disjoint parts of a noninteracting Gaussian chain are uncorrelated, this distribution is identical to the endpoint distribution of a chain of length k > - k ... [Pg.23]

This equals the negative of the internal (configurational) energy of the solvent, Econb which is related to its pair potential u(r) (see Eq. (3.18)) and pair correlation function g(r) on the molecular level (Marcus... [Pg.138]

Campbell s series [5] states that many authors recommend, as do I, the O Connell method for hydrocarbons. You may select the two-film method by entering T. The Fractionation Research Institute (FRI) has for more than 30 years used and proven a much more thorough method called the two-film method, which is equally applicable to both fractionators and absorbers [6], The FRI method accounts for the actual tray internal configuration and fluid dynamics, making it far superior to the O Connell method. I have therefore produced a type of two-film method for determining tray efficiency that has been checked to be within 3% accuracy of hundreds of answers calculated with the FRI method. Called the Erwin two-film method, it is recommended for all types of trays and will also calculate the liquid tray residence time in seconds. This method is included in the three tray computer program executable files in the CD accompanying this book. [Pg.90]
