Interiors patterns

Patients may exhibit both exterior and interior patterns. In such cases, first relieve the exterior and then treat the interior. However, if both exterior and interior are affected to the same degree, treat both simultaneously. [Pg.12]

Do not relieve the exterior once exterior patterns have transmuted into interior patterns. [Pg.12]

Performance of Well 5 is considered respresentative of the six wells producing from both reservoirs. Fig. 8 summarizes the producing history of this interior pattern well which receives a four-way injection push in the lower reservoir and a three-way push in the upper Squirrel section. Cumulative oil production to May 1, 1966, was... [Pg.102]

However, before extrapolating the arguments from the gross patterns through the reactor for homogeneous reactions to solid-catalyzed reactions, it must be recognized that in catalytic reactions the fluid in the interior of catalyst pellets may diSer from the main body of fluid. The local inhomogeneities caused by lowered reactant concentration within the catalyst pellets result in a product distribution different from that which would otherwise be observed. [Pg.48]

As special cases, both Eqs. (9.40) and (9.44) must be limits of a single function which also describes the intermediate situations in which the interior of the coil domain is partially penetrated by the pattern of flow. [Pg.611]

Glaser and Litt (G4) have proposed, in an extension of the above study, a model for gas-liquid flow through a b d of porous particles. The bed is assumed to consist of two basic structures which influence the fluid flow patterns (1) Void channels external to the packing, with which are associated dead-ended pockets that can hold stagnant pools of liquid and (2) pore channels and pockets, i.e., continuous and dead-ended pockets in the interior of the particles. On this basis, a theoretical model of liquid-phase dispersion in mixed-phase flow is developed. The model uses three bed parameters for the description of axial dispersion (1) Dispersion due to the mixing of streams from various channels of different residence times (2) dispersion from axial diffusion in the void channels and (3) dispersion from diffusion into the pores. The model is not applicable to turbulent flow nor to such low flow rates that molecular diffusion is comparable to Taylor diffusion. The latter region is unlikely to be of practical interest. The model predicts that the reciprocal Peclet number should be directly proportional to nominal liquid velocity, a prediction that has been confirmed by a few determinations of residence-time distribution for a wax desulfurization pilot reactor of 1-in. diameter packed with 10-14 mesh particles. [Pg.99]

The composition of the Earth was determined both by the chemical composition of the solar nebula, from which the sun and planets formed, and by the nature of the physical processes that concentrated materials to form planets. The bulk elemental and isotopic composition of the nebula is believed, or usually assumed to be identical to that of the sun. The few exceptions to this include elements and isotopes such as lithium and deuterium that are destroyed in the bulk of the sun s interior by nuclear reactions. The composition of the sun as determined by optical spectroscopy is similar to the majority of stars in our galaxy, and accordingly the relative abundances of the elements in the sun are referred to as "cosmic abundances." Although the cosmic abundance pattern is commonly seen in other stars there are dramatic exceptions, such as stars composed of iron or solid nuclear matter, as in the case with neutron stars. The... [Pg.14]

Hence the top grid pattern is usualty widely spaced but not the extent that the electrical contact layer will have difficulty in collecting the current produced by the cell s other active layer. Cleau ly, the silicon disc needs to be heated as well during the process to aid the diffusion process. Note that the surface will be rieh in diffusing species and that the density of species declines within the interior What happens is that once the ion contacts the silicon surface, it "hops from site to site into the interior of the bulk of the silicon matrix. [Pg.350]
