Intercell connector

Fuel Cells Cathode and anode catalyst support Intercell connectors... [Pg.176]

Because the interconnect is exposed to high temperatures and oxidizing environments it must be stable against both. It must also serve as an effective barrier to the oxidant and fuel gases so that direct reaction is avoided, and it is required to be chemically inert with respect to the cathode, anode and the intercell connector material, for example nickel (see Fig. 4.32(a)). [Pg.191]

What is the voltage drop across the intercell connectors (in a monopolar cell) or the connecting strips (in bipolar cells) What specific design feature allows minimization of these voltage drops ... [Pg.428]

With a monopolar circuit, the usual technique is to employ a mobile switching device that can be brought into position adjacent to the appropriate electrolyzer. With diaphragm cells, this takes the form of a cabinet on wheels, placed in the aisle next to the cell. With membrane cells, the switch may be above, below, or beside the cell. Depending on the arrangement of intercell connectors, it may be necessary to switch two electrolyzers fixim the circuit, but the principle remains the same. [Pg.753]

Danger of short circuits from handling with current-conducting and noninsulated tools requires a total insulation of the battery intercell connectors and end terminals. [Pg.202]

Systems such as BICaT collect data via a microprocessor, a current measuring shunt, and a temperature sensor placed on a modified intercell connector and via a connection with the terminals of a traction battery. The transmission of all data is performed by a modern to a mobile data collector, e.g., a notebook. [Pg.206]

Intercell connectors Posts Separators Cell containers... [Pg.26]

A modification of this design is the bipolar plate illustrated in Fig. 3.2ld. Here the anode and cathode are fabricated as layers on opposite sides of an electronically conductive but ion-impermeable material which serves as the intercell connector. [Pg.90]

Wire leads and intercell connectors should be properly isolated and insulated to preclude the development of short circuits during the assembly process as well as during the life of the battery. [Pg.139]

Cells are assembled into batteries in many different ways. Often 2 to 10 cells are mounted in a separate battery unit, several of which may be used to form the complete battery. A typical battery is shown in Fig. 26.5. Cells in plastic containers are also assembled into batteries by putting the single cells close together on a rack or a stand and connecting them with intercell connectors. This is especially the case for stationary applications (Fig. 26.6). Cells in steel containers can be assembled in a similar way however, here the cells must be spaced from one another and insulated from the rack. [Pg.751]

Terminal bolts to connect cables and intercell connectors... [Pg.237]

The plate locking device, together with the polypropylene container s specially strengthened walls, ensures that every TLR battery will meet arduous on-vehicle vibration conditions. This combination means that each cell s assembly is rigidly clamped in all directions to the container and lid. The battery vibrates as a whole, without over-stressing the intercell connectors, where a fracture would cause premature battery failure. [Pg.516]
