INTEGER-EXPRESSION

A INTEGER entity represents an integer value in the form of an entity It may be referenced from other entities, it may have an index entry and an integer expression associated. [Pg.142]

An INTEGER EXPRESSION property indicates that the referenced real entity is in fact the value of an arithmetic expression. [Pg.143]

The consistency attribute indicates whether that value is consistent with the present expression the update mode indicates when updating of value is to occur Updating may occur whenever the expression (the construct) is [Pg.143]

Positive external pressure, P, on surface of fluid on pump suction is used as a positive integer, expressed as feet of fluid, (4-). [Pg.186]

Integer expressions not permitted. Loop increment must be positive integer. [Pg.523]

Integer expressions permitted. Loop increment can be positive or negative. [Pg.523]

The base integer specifies the base. The extended digits (0 to 9 and A to F) form the integer expression in that base and there is an optional exponent. The following examples illustrate based literals that are equivalent to the integer literal 128 ... [Pg.160]

The value of these special forms of integer expression is to enable values to be represented in a way that is meaningful to the designer. They can all be treated as normal integers in any expression. [Pg.160]

Returns an integer expression indicating the number of elements in A. [Pg.168]

Each of these attributes may take a postfixed expression, N, where N is a static integer expression indicating the index range of Ato which the attribute applies. This is useful for two-dimensional arrays. [Pg.168]

The expression shows that one extra factor v enters for each addition anc that each successive expression is divided by an extra integer which count the number of additions to the original growth center. [Pg.408]

Mixed-integer programming contains integer variables with the values of either 0 or 1. These variables represent a stmcture or substmcture. A special constraint about the stmctures states that of a set of (stmcture) integer variables only one of them can have a value of 1 expressed in a statement the sum of the values of (alternate) variables is equal to 1. In this manner, the arbitrary relations between stmctures can be expressed mathematically and then the optimal solution is found with the help of a computer program. (52). [Pg.81]

Most often the hypothesis H concerns the value of a continuous parameter, which is denoted 0. The data D are also usually observed values of some physical quantity (temperature, mass, dihedral angle, etc.) denoted y, usually a vector, y may be a continuous variable, but quite often it may be a discrete integer variable representing the counts of some event occurring, such as the number of heads in a sequence of coin flips. The expression for the posterior distribution for the parameter 0 given the data y is now given as... [Pg.316]

Whenever a rate law contains non-integers orders, there are intermediates present in the reaction sequence. When a fractional order is observed in an empirical rate expression for a homogeneous reaction, it is often an indication tliat an important part of the mechanism is the splitting of a molecule into free radicals or ions. [Pg.33]

Studies on the electronic structure of carbon nanotube (CNT) is of much importance toward its efficient utilisation in electronic devices. It is well known that the early prediction of its peculiar electronic structure [1-3] right after the lijima s observation of multi-walled CNT (MWCNT) [4] seems to have actually triggered the subsequent and explosive series of experimental researches of CNT. In that prediction, alternative appearance of metallic and semiconductive nature in CNT depending on the combination of diameter and pitch or, more specifically, chiral vector of CNT expressed by two kinds of non-negative integers (a, b) as described later (see Fig. 1). [Pg.40]

Compounds are formed when atoms of two or more elements combine. In a given compound, the relative numbers of atoms of each kind are definite and constant. In general, these relative numbers can be expressed as integers or simple fractions. [Pg.26]

We have already learned that metals may be deformed easily and we have explained this in terms of the absence of directional character in metallic bonding. In view of this principle, it is not surprising that two-element or three-element metallic crystals exist. In some of these, regular arrangements of two or more types of atoms are found. The composition then is expressed in simple integer ratios, so these are called metallic compounds. In other cases, a fraction of the atoms of the major constituent have been replaced by atoms of one or more other elements. Such a substance is called a solid solution. These metals containing two or more types of atoms are called alloys. [Pg.309]

Any one of Bell s Eqs. (2), (3), or (4) is a linear combination of the other two, and therefore it contributes no new information. The disproportionation can be represented by combining two such equations, but every value of the solution acidity has its own particular combination, usually not expressable with small integers, and no single combination is suitable for all acidities - see Radiochem. Radioanal. Letters 27 (4), 243 (1976)."... [Pg.449]

The integer n labels the wavefunctions and is called a quantum number. In general, a quantum number is an integer (or, in some cases, Section 1.10, a half-integer) that labels a wavefunction, specifies a state, and can be used to calculate the value of a property of the system. For example, we can use n to find an expression for the energy corresponding to each wavefunction. [Pg.142]

HO-oxidation of an individual NMHCj produces H02 radicals with a yield aj, and oxidation of the NMHC oxidation product produces H02 in stoichiometric amount The lumped coefficients or yields a and p need not be integers, and represent the effectiveness of a particular NMHCj in producing RO2. and H02 radicals (lumped together as HO2) that will then oxidize NO. to N02 in processes such as R6 and R13, producing one net ozone molecule each. Alternatively, when the NO. concentration is low, peroxyl radicals may form PAN (as in R22) or hydrogen peroxide (as in R33) which are other oxidant species. In this formulation, transport is expressed by an overall dilution rate of the polluted air mass into unpolluted air with a rate constant (units = reciprocal time dilution lifetime=1// ). This rate constant includes scavenging processes such as precipitation removal as well as mixing with clean air. [Pg.75]

This definition for reaction order is directly meaningful only for irreversible or forward reactions that have rate expressions in the form of Equation (1.20). Components A, B,... are consumed by the reaction and have negative stoichiometric coefficients so that m = —va, n = —vb,. .. are positive. For elementary reactions, m and n must be integers of 2 or less and must sum to 2 or less. [Pg.8]

Next, observations xi. ..x are classed by first subtracting the x-value of the lower boundary of bin 1, a, and then dividing the difference by the class width w. The integer INT((x,-a)/M +l) gives the class number (index) j. The number of events per class is counted and expressed in form of an absolute, a relative, and a cumulative result (E, 100 E/n, resp. 100 H(E/n)). [Pg.75]
