Infants primidone

Antiepilepsy. General note of caution observe the infant for sedation and poor suckling. Primidone, ethosuximide and phenobarbital are present in milk in high amounts phenytoin and sodium valproate less so.

An initial marked decrease in phenytoin levels, then an inerease to half the initial phenytoin level, was seen in the first few weeks after withdrawing primidone in an infant. Derived phenobarbital levels before diseontin-uing the primidone were very high, and were assoeiated with marked sedation. ...
