Indium/ions/salts

Other Salts. Indium nitrate trihydrate [13770-61 -1], In(N02)3 3H20, is a soluble salt prepared by dissolution of the metal or oxide in nitric acid. Indium phosphate [14693-82-4], InPO, is precipitated by adding phosphate ions to a solution of an indium salt. It is soluble in water. [Pg.81]

Direct. Some radionucHdes are packaged in solution for direct sampling (qv) via a septum and injection into the patient. GalHum-67 is a marker of inflammation, infection, and various tumor types. Its half-life is 78.3 h and it is suppHed as the gallium citrate salt. Indium-111 chloride is suppHed for the labeling of white blood ceUs. The In chloride is mixed with oxine (9-hydroxyquinoline) to form a lipophilic, cationic In oxine complex, which enters the white blood ceU. The complex dissociates within the ceU, and the cationic In " ion is trapped within the ceU, owing to its charge. [Pg.483]

The iminium ion electrophile can also be prepared separately, as a crystalline solid known as Eschen-moser s salt (Me2N =CH21 ) and, with this, the reaction is normally carried ont in a non-polar solvent. Examples that illnstrate the variation in iminium ion structure that can be tolerated include the reaction of indole with quinolines, catalysed by indium(lll) chloride, with benzylidene derivatives of arylamines, catalysed by lanthanide triflates, with ethyl glyoxylate imines " (no catalyst required) and with dihydro-1,4-oxazin-2-ones. °" ... [Pg.383]

Indium halogeno complexes are similar to those of A1 and Ga but, although in non-aqueous media and in crystalline salts the InCl4 ion is tetrahedral,29 it is probably aquated in aqueous solution the species InCl2+ and InCl are also formed.30... [Pg.270]

Morin, the coloring matter of fustic, is 3,5,7,2, 4 -pentahydroxy flavone (I). Its alcohol solutions react with aluminum salts in neutral or acetic acid solution to give an intense green fluorescence in daylight and ultraviolet light. The fluorescence is due to the formation of a colloidally dispersed inner complex aluminum salt of morin with the probable structure (II), or to an adsorption compound of morin with alumina. Beryllium, indium, gallium, thorium and scandium salts also form fluorescent compounds with morin. The pH of the system has much influence in these reactions. The only metal ion whose reaction with morin is independent of pH is Zr+ or its hydrolysis product (compare page 519). [Pg.95]

The behavior of />-nitrosodiphenyIainine is rather selective with respect to palladium. Colored precipitates are produced only with gold, platinum, rhodium, indium, and silver salts, but the sensitivity is much less than with palladium ions. [Pg.384]

InBr3 and other indium salts can generate the corresponding ether from the alcohol, and the carbenium ion is then slowly released in the reaction mixture, where it reacts in an irreversible manner with the chiral enamine formed in situ. The compatibility of indium salts with organocatalytic process is dictated by the... [Pg.739]
