Indinavir Hypericum

St. John s Wort All products containing St. John s Wort 02/10/2000 Hypericum perforatum can decrease indinavir plasma concentrations due to the induction of the P-450 metabolic pathway... 

There is now evidence that Hypericum extracts induce cytochrom P450 and because of this effect patients using cyclosporin, dig-oxin, SSRI (synthetic anti-depressants), warfarin, indinavir or oral contraceptives must be counselled not to use Hypericum or if they are already doing so, not to stop use abruptly.
