Independent Television Commission

Independent Television Commission. Code of Advertising Standards and Practice. London ICT, 1998. 

Under the Regulations, the Director General has no power in relation to advertisements carried on any television, radio or cable service. Where an advertisement is misleading, neither the Independent Television Commission nor the Radio Authority have power to seek an injxmction, instead they can refuse to transmit the advertisment. 

United States, it is regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC is an independent United States government agency chained with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable. The FCC s jurisdiction covers the fifty states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions.
