Incongruent melting points

System in which the two components form a compound with an incongruent melting point. In this system the compound formed... [Pg.31]

The first system is characterized by a partial miscibility of the liquid phases, the second one is instable with incongruent melting points at -54... [Pg.87]

Immiscible liquids, 12 boiling point of, 13, 14 vapour pressure of, 13, 14 Incongruent melting point, 31 Indane-1 2-dione, 903, 904 Indane-1 2 3-trione hydrate, see Ninhydrin Indigo, 980... [Pg.1178]

The incongruent melting point was given by Rollet ( ) the decomposition products being KgB 0, (l) and KgBgOj g(cr). References... [Pg.302]

The Incongruent melting point reported by Sastry and Hummel (4) is used here. [Pg.303]

The incongruent melting point was reported by Morey and Merwin (4) the products are BagB O d) and BagB O gCcr). References... [Pg.304]

The Incongruent melting point was taken from Kubaschewskl and Evans (5). [Pg.413]

The incongruent melting point is obtained from Massazza ( 1). Previous work by Coughanour ( ) indicates congruent melting point at 1903 K. The A. is estimated from those of Na 0 2Ti0 and Na 0 Ti0 observed by Naylor (3) and CaO-TiO -SiO observed... [Pg.1477]

In certain cases, the melting point of the compound is not observed, because the mixture decomposes completely at a temperature below its melting point. Such a compound is said to have an incongruent melting point. A typical melting point-composition curve for this type... [Pg.94]

The system BaO — T1O2 comprises 5 compounds, three of which have an incongruent melting point. The lowest eutectic melts at 1317 °C. Only two of the compounds mentioned find practical applications BaTi03 and BaTi409. The former is especially significant and will be discussed in detail below. The other compound is one of the correcting phases used in rutile ceramics (see above). In addition, it constitutes abase for linear dielectrics with a low temperature dependence of permittivity. The properties of some of the materials dealt with above are listed in Table 27. [Pg.162]

The ternary compound, potash feldspar, has an incongruent melting point at 1150 + 20°C. In all compositions that lie in this field, considerable difficulty is experienced in obtaining potash feldspar crystals. Even after several months of crystallization at temperatures about 50 to 75°C below liquidus temperature, Schairer and Bowen [75] observed only a few percent of very small feldspar laths in the glasses. For those extremely viscous melts that also lie on or very near the leucite-silica line, Schairer and Bowen never crystallized feldspar. [Pg.57]

Compounds are formed with an incongruent melting-point. [Pg.70]
