Incoherent boundary, energy

Incoherent neutron inelastic scattering (INIS) provides information on the density of states (see Appendix) of a crystal which, for the most part, is determined by Brillouin-zone boundary energies of the dispersion curves. [Pg.137]

In this chapter it has been shown that interphase interfaces in crystalline materials may be characterized by their structure as coherent, semico-herent or incoherent. The nature of the interface affects the morphology of second phases and the way they interact with grain boundaries. It has also been shown that the relative values of the surface and interfacial energies in a layered system can have a significant effect on the stability... [Pg.145]
