Dual-View provides a single TIRF image utilizing the entire camera field of view when the filter slider is in the half-way out position (called Bypass Mode) and the slider lever stays in Band-Pass position. Dual-View also provides a split double TIRF image when the filter slide is pushed all the way into the tube (called Dual-View Mode) and the slider lever stays in Duel-View position.

Most X-ray microscopes and spatially resolved imaging techniques especially with the option of tomography and thus 3D imaging utilize the absorption contrast of a material. In the following section we illustrate the results obtained for Li-ion batteries by a few selected examples from this vastly growing research area. 

Ultrasonic transducers for medical imaging utilize piezoelectric ceramics and composites to generate an ultrasonic beam that can penetrate soft tissue. The same transducer then picks up the reflections off internal structure, organs, fetus, etc. These transducers most often consist of square-cross-section piezoelectric rods in a polymer matrix. These are formed by a dice-and-fill process. Figure 3.47 shows various piezoelectric-polymer composites used to optimize the performance for various applications. The diced 1-3 composite is typically used in ultrasonic transducer applications.
