Ideal Supplier

Ideal supplier the characteristics of such a supplier and how the fastener industry stacks up. Is the industry better or worse than customers ideal If worse, in what ways ... [Pg.148]

As shown in Table 11.2, this concept allows the respondent to define what they value most in suppliers. The ideal supplier is the supplier best at the performance factors the respondent would like all suppliers to have. Obviously, all suppliers are not ideal. It is also possible that no one supplier reaches the ideal supplier s level of performance, so the ideal is in fact a composite. By understanding customer priorities for each performance factor. Acme will have the information needed to fill the what portion of the QFD matrix - the voice of the customer, that is, the QFD input. [Pg.150]

The questionnaire asks the respondent to compare the fastener industry to this ideal. With the ideal supplier representing the first quartile of suppliers, the respondent places the fastener industry in the appropriate... [Pg.150]

The next response asks for Acme s performance relative to the ideal supplier. Of course, the respondent must buy from Acme. This information will assist in filling the why portion, the customer perceptions, of the QFD matrix. Why depicts the performance gap that must be closed. Table 11.3 shows possible interpretations arising from the application of the ideal supplier concept with performance measures for the industry and Acme. [Pg.151]

The last decade has also seen the advent of commercial SIS polymers with 15-18% styrene content, but with higher diblock content (typically 30-55%). These are available from many of the major suppliers. The higher diblock content makes them ideal for label applications where low modulus PSAs provide easy die cuttabilty in processing, and rapid wet out and bonding to the substrate in the label application. The shear holding power characteristic would be reduced, but this would not be a critical factor for many label applications. [Pg.481]

Figure 16.2 shows a simplified and idealized version of the components involved in the planning step, that is, the components of the supply chain. S possible suppliers provide raw materials to each of the M manufacturing plants. These plants manufacture a given product that may be stored or warehoused in W facilities (or may not be stored at all), and these in turn are delivered to C different customers. The nature of the problem depends on whether the products are made to order or made... [Pg.554]

A control sample is a sample for which the concentrations of the test analyte is known and which is treated in an identical manner to the test samples. It should ideally be of a similar overall composition to the test samples in order to show similar physical and analytical features. For instance, if serum samples are being analysed for their glucose content, the control sample should also be serum with a known concentration of glucose. A control sample will be one of many aliquots of a larger sample, stored under suitable conditions and for which the between batch mean and standard deviation of many replicates have been determined. It may be prepared within the laboratory or purchased from an external supplier. Although values are often stated for commercially available control samples, it is essential that the mean and standard deviation are determined from replicate analyses within each particular laboratory. [Pg.20]

Seed potatoes usually appear in nurseries, or are shipped by mailorder suppliers, in late winter to early spring, in order that they may be "chitted" for a few weeks before planting out. Lay out the tubers in shallow trays—egg cartons near right) are ideal. Place the end with the most "eyes" (dormant buds) uppermost. Put them in a light, warm place until they sprout. Once frost has become rare and the soil has warmed up, plant them out far right) with the sprouted end uppermost. [Pg.263]

As far as the use of the certified reference material is concerned, in an ideal situation the supplier or producer should give advice on the appropriate use to the user. In addition it is essential to obtain information relevant to storage temperature, influence of moisture and influence of contamination. The possibility of dividing the certified reference material into different portions after opening in order to maintain its original properties should always be considered. [Pg.297]

Antibodies the type of primary Ab is determined by the antigens to be detected The secondary antispecies Ab should ideally be labeled with 5- or 10-nm gold, and good-quality Ab can be obtained commercially from several suppliers (see Note 2). [Pg.315]

Performance qualification should be executed by customer personnel. It is a great disadvantage if it has to be performed by the supplier. Ideally this phase allows know-how to be established at the pharmaceutical company. [Pg.495]
