Hybrid precursor, synthesis

The dication 212+ composed of two methylium units connected to a p-phenylene spacer would be a candidate for new Wurster type violene-cyanine hybrid (Figure 12) (15). The reaction of four molar amounts of azulene 6b with terephthalaldehyde yielded the hydro precursor. Synthesis of the dication 212+ was accomplished by hydride abstraction with DDQ in almost quantitative yield. The dication 212+ was expected to show destabilization, but instead it exhibited high thermodynamic stability just like the corresponding monocation 3b+. [Pg.181]

Synthesis of Hybrid Precursor fi-CDAPS Containing Amino Groups and fi-CD Moieties... [Pg.215]

The soft experimental conditions in the synthesis of P-CDAPS were optimized using experimental design. The hybrid precursor P-CDAPS has been characterized in order to determine its structure. ETIR spectra show the presence of amino groups (1564cm ) on one hand and siloxane structure (1100-1000cm ) on the other hand, conhrmed by TGA measurements. This TGA gave a Si ratio of 5.80 0.04%., conhrmed by elemental analysis. N content was determined by elemental analysis at 2.98 0.02%, which corresponds to 2.13 0.04mmol/g of amine functions, also deduced from amine titration. [Pg.216]

In this paper, we report about a recent in situ SANS study of the synthesis of the SBA-15 materials [5]. Our results demonstrate that SANS (using D20 instead of H20 as a solvent) is a powerful tool for the determination of size and shape of hybrid inorganic-organic micelles during the first synthesis step when the precursor species undergo hydrolysis and form an inorganic framework around the copolymer micelles. [Pg.54]

Figure 2 Evolution of the neutron scattering intensities with time. Only spherical micelles of P123 block copolymer are present in the synthesis mixture within the first few minutes of the reaction (300 s), during the hydrolysis of the silica precursor. Then, hybrid organic-inorganic cylindrical micelles are detected (300-1400 s). The SBA-15 hexagonal phase is formed when the precipitation occurs, after 1400 s. In this research study an ordered, mesoporous hybrid organosilica material incorporating a biphei rl moiety was fabricated. The polymerization process was surfactant-mediated to ensure uniform pore pattern and narrow pore size distribution. The synthesis of the organosilica precursor was done and investigated by the research group of the Inorganic Synthesis and Computational Research Laboratory of Institute of Chemistry, Diliman, Quezon City. [Pg.398]

In the following chapter, Taviot-Gu ho and Leroux review the synthesis and structural features of nanocomposite materials prepared by the assembly of LDHs and polymers or polymer precursors and discuss how the properties of the resulting hybrid materials are related to their structure. [Pg.243]
