Human beings evolution 388

Shen is the manifestation power of existence. When Shen is distilled things manifest. When Shen is distilled within the subtle body transcendent evolution can be attained. The human being distills shen naturally. [Pg.383]

The outer crust of earth has provided the solid foundation for the evolution of human beings, who are the prime focus of interest and concern to archaeology. The main components of this crust are minerals and rocks, some consolidated and others occurring as sediments, nonconsolidated deposits, created by weathering processes from the minerals and rocks. All these minerals, rocks, and sediments, as well as everything else in the universe, are made up from just over 100 chemical elements listed in Appendix I. Most of the elements in the crust of the earth occur in extremely low relative amounts, and only a few, listed in Table 1, make up almost 99% of its total bulk (Bloom 1969). [Pg.26]

Fossilized primates, especially fossilized humans, are, unfortunately, particularly rare, and this partly explains why the evolutionary history of human beings is incomplete and continuously being revised. Still, the few fossilized human remains that have been preserved provide the main foundations for modem human evolution theories (Reader 1981). [Pg.426]

Robert Richards This is just a simple question about - are there behaviours, not drive-by shootings in Los Angeles, but simple behaviours that human beings exhibit, that seem to be most perspicuously analysed by giving an evolutionary adaptable account And this won t be the account. And not only that - any evolutionary account, I think we all agree about this, is going to take into perspective the environment, because evolution, we presume, does count on certain constant environments in order to exhibit the kinds of effects that it can select. [Pg.256]

If our interpretation is correct, it will be quite impossible to find a drug that will act with complete uniformity on all human beings. In order for this to be accomplished, variation, the cornerstone of evolution, and biochemical individuality would have to be abolished. [Pg.157]

The president shakes his head. We ve no right to deny our species access to higher universes. This is the next step in humanity s evolution. Think of the new philosophies and ideas we would develop. This would be a boon to humankind. The procedure of implanting 3-D retinas will not cause the children pain. The children will still be human they will still love their parents. They will play with friends. They ll just see more of reality. ... [Pg.153]

Some of the fluorinated acids are considerably more toxic to animals than to human beings.57 On the other hand, it has been shown that the impact of fluoroacetate-containing plants on fauna results in evolution of a marked tolerance to the poison.58 In the longer chain... [Pg.42]
