Most architectural fabrics are usually flexible composites comprised of glass fibers coated with fluorocarbons to resist wind, mechanical forces, and outdoor environmental degradation. The airport terminal in Saudi Arabia, and the roofs for the Hubert Humphrey Dome in Minneapolis and the Tokyo Dome Stadium are a few examples of the successful use of architectural fabrics.

The Pictet-Hubert reaction describes the construction of the phenanthridine nucleus (2) by dehydration of acyl-o-xenylamines (1). The application of zinc chloride at high temperature facilitates the dehydration/ This reaction is also referred as the Morgan-Walls Reaction. 

The synthetic utility of the Pictet-Hubert reaction is limited. This is due to the requirement of having a substituent in the para position of the A ring (10) or no substituent on the A ring. Substituents present in the meta position of the A ring (12)... 

The Pictet-Hubert reaction has found utility in the production of phenanthridine molecules that act as DNA-intercalator antitumor and antiviral agents (17).

It will be noted that the experiments with sodium nitrate confii m the results of Charabot and Hubert, both as regards the increase in menthyl esters and the decrease in menthone in the essential oil. 

In the case of sweet basil, Ocimwn basilicum, Charabot and Hubert have examined the essential oils distilled from plants which had been cultivated in full light and from those kept shaded from the light. Jn the former case the oil contained 57 3 per cent, of estragol and 42 7 per cent, of terpene compounds, whilst in the case of the shaded plants the estragol had risen tO 74 2per cent, and the terpene compounds fell to 25 8 per cent.
