Horizon line

Horizon Line. The place in the distance where the sky and the earth appear to meet. 

Vanishing Point. The point or points on the horizon line at which an object will disappear as it moves away from the viewer into the distance. 

In one-point linear perspective, the lines of vision come together at one point on the horizon line. In two-point linear perspective, the lines of vision come together at two points on the horizon line. (See Figure 5.9.)... 

For each picture, use a ruler to draw a horizon line across the page in the proper position relative to the object depicted. The object will be above, at, or below the horizon line.

A quick glance at your horoscope provides an easy entry into interpretation — and all you have to do is count. First locate the horizon line in your chart — the line running from the Ascendant to the Descendant, as shown in Figure 14-1. (Turn to Chapter 11 for more on your Ascendant and Descendant.) If a large majority of your planets — seven or more — are above the horizon, you re an extrovert who looks to the external world for recognition and endorsement. 

Fig. 4.10, right). It is interesting to note that the horizon line in Fig. 4.10 becomes less visible in situations of pronounced Schlieren effect, because most of the incident light is moved in other directions.

There are four basic parts to perspective sketches. The first is the horizon line, an imaginary line that represents the edge of how far we can see. The second part is the vanishing point, a location on the horizon line where our... 

A two-point perspective view allows the viewer to see two sides of an object "vanishing" to two different points on the horizon line. 

The concepts of perspective drawing are that objects appear to get shorter and closer together the farther they are from the viewer, and everything vanishes to the horizon line. 

After a first automatic, globed adjustment of the deposited tcuget pattern to the image, detection of the horizon lines of the rope, the strand gaps and individual wire backs will take place by searching for the corresponding contrast appearances. However this includes that the intensity relationship between wire and gap can vary on the rope circumference depending on the rope type, lubrication or place looked at in the picture. 

The product of the golf course builder is a manufactured one, but most golf course architects employ a series of techniques to make the final product look, as nearly as can be achieved, as if it were simply there, the product of the same forces that created the local landscape. Among these techniques is the art of borrowing the distant silhouette of the horizon line when the course is built in hilly terrain, an idea inspired... 

The distorting influence of the physical horizon line on measurement of astronomical azimuths can be levelled by locating the instrument on the beach, whose calm surface coincides with the astronomical...
