Home-work interface

From the occupant s point of view, the ideal situation is an indoor environment that satisfies all occupants (i.e. they have no complaints) and does not unnecessarily increase the risk or severity of illness or injury. Both the satisfaction of people (comfort) and health status are influenced by general well-being, mental drive, job satisfaction, technical competence, career achievements, home/work interface, relationship with others, personal circumstances, organisational matters, etc, and last but not least by environmental factors, such as... 

We sometimes use the phrase "the bedside" to refer to the working interface. Actually, healthcare s working interface extends far beyond the bedside in both space and time. It is where any aspect of treatment occurs or wherever healthcare workers do their jobs. Thus it includes not only the hospital bedside, clinic exam room, treatment room, and laboratory but also medical transportation, patient homes, extended care facilities, phone conversations between patients and nurses, hospice, courier vans transporting laboratory specimens to laboratories, and community pharmacies. (The working interface even includes so-called curbside encounters, where the patient runs into his physician on the street and says, "Hey, Doc—I stopped taking that medicine you prescribed... 

In the modem context it has come to refer to the relationship between a person and the conditions in which his activities, whether work operations or leisure activities, place him. More commonly, it is being applied to the interface between the individual and work equipment and takes account of the surroxmdings in which the equipment is used. However, the design and layout of equipment is not the only influence acting on workpeople that affects their attitudes towards work. Work colleagues are also an influence and the psychological aspects of relationships between employees also needs to be home in mind.
