Holding time index

HE Half-life of cooling water chemical additives in the system (holding time index)... [Pg.14]

Also, calculate the holding time index. If the holding time is more than, say, 48 hours, expect potential problems with the dispersion and removal of suspended solids and sludges. Also expect potential problems with regard to the holding up of supersaturated minerals in solution, such as calcium carbonate. Again, some innovative solution may need to be found. [Pg.278]

If the holding time index is particularly high, ask questions. [Pg.278]

Holding time index. Depletion rate. Time taken for initial concentration of chemical additive in cooling water to fall by half. Half-life (HL) = 0.639 x volume (V)/bleed (B). [Pg.439]

The effect of catalyst slurry and sol age time on the Attrition Indexes of the CP-formulated samples is seen in Table III. There is a trend toward greater attrition as the batch holding time increases for both CP-2 products. Concomitantly, the viscosity range becomes higher, as was observed previously. CP-5 also appears to lose attrition resistance as the age and viscosity of the slurry advance. On the other hand, the holding time does not impact the CP-25 Attrition Index. The CP-2(4) material, made with a sol aged 4 hours, exhibits lower AI values, and, perhaps, a longer useful batch lifetime. [Pg.425]

FIGURE 127 In R R activation, longer hold times result in polymer of higher melt index because the dehydroxylation step in CO is a time-dependent process. [Pg.369]

Explore crystal size distribution as a function of solids holding time r, fines system cut puint Lf, and flow index into fines sytem ft. [Pg.617]

Using the desired holding time, draw a line from the holding time through the mark on the index line. Extend the line until it cuts the shell length scale. This is the required shell length. [Pg.165]

To make sure the stable state of resin in the process optimization test, the process monitoring system (PMS) was applied in a wide range in this study. For each critical step of the test, the way to utilize the PMS dq ended upon the phenomenon in the mold and the purpose of the test. The dependent variables such as switchover point and holding time were properly set with the aid of the PMS. Based on the relationship of the state of the resin with pressure and temperature, a new PMS index was proposed. The index showed the best correlation with the part weight among various indices through the correlation analysis. [Pg.1505]

In this study, the PMS was applied in various ways to a process optimization by the response surface analysis (RSA) for a box-shqje product The control variables for the process optimization test were chosm from the indqjendent variables. The dq>endent variables such as switchover point and holding time were found carefully and the state of resin in the mold in every condition during the optimization test was assmed with aid of the PMS. In order to find a PMS index showing highest correlation with the part weight as a representing factor for part... [Pg.1505]

In Section II, we presented the computational model involved in branching from a node, cr, to a node aa,. In this model, it was necessary to interpret the alphabet symbol a, and ascribe it to a set of properties. In the same way, we have to interpret o- as a state of the flowshop, and for convenience, we assigned a set of state variables to tr that facilitated the calculation of the lower-bound value and any existing dominance or equivalence conditions. Thus, we must be able to manipulate the variable values associated with state and alphabet symbols. To do this, we can use the distinguishing feature of first-order predicates, i.e., the ability to parameterize over their arguments. We can use two place predicates, or binary predicates, where the first place introduces a variable to hold the value of the property and the second holds the element of the language, or the string of which we require the value. Thus, if we want to extract the lower bound of a state o-, we can use the predicate Lower-bound Ig [cr]) to bind Ig to the value of the lower bound of cr. This idea extends easily to properties, which are indexed by more than just the state itself, for example, unit-completion-times, v, which are functions of both the state and a unit... [Pg.304]

This great compilation was intended to contain the principal independent periodicals of every branch of pure and applied science published in all countries from the rise of this literature to the present time (1895). The 8600 titles are arranged alphabetically. Included also are chronological tables, a classified subject index, and American library holdings. [Pg.98]
