HMSC experiment

Instead of the destructive co-addition of unwanted coherence, in the HMSC experiment [5.207(b)], Check it 5.8.1.4, data relating to one-bond correlations and multiple-bond correlations are interleaved in a single data file. A pre-processing script... [Pg.342]

Bigler and co-workers illustrated the application of the HMSC experiment using strychnine (14) as a model compound. Excellent discrimination in the processed data was obtained between the direct and long-range correlation responses. Results obtained with the HMSC experiment were compared to conventional HMBC and statically-optimized ACCORD-HMBC data. The sensitivity and lineshape were comparable to the HMBC data and superior to the statically-optimized ACCORD-HMBC data due to the evolution of antiphase coherence into in-phase coherence prior to detection, resulting in FlDs that are not optimal for magnitude calculated presentation. This observation is analogous to that made with the BIRD-HMBC data above (see Section 3.3.6). [Pg.85]

In their native tissue environment, cells experience a wide magnitude of matrix stiffness, from soft (brain 0.1 kPa) to stiffer (bone 80 kPa) tissues, which dictates several aspects of cellular functions [126]. The landmark study by Engler and colleagues [127] demonstrated that hMSCs cultured on 2-D polyacrylanude substrates of varying stiffness undergo lineage-specific differentiation to become cell types characteristic of tissues with the corresponding stiffness. A later study... [Pg.198]
