Hirudin and Heparin as Anticoagulants

Heparin/antithrombin III complexes react also with various other factors of the coagulation/fibrinolysis cascades 

High affinity for numerous other compounds (e.g., platelets, endothelium) 

Low-molecular-weight heparins (approx. 3,000-5,000 Da) with special properties available 

Hepatitis B vaccine (20 meg IM followed by a second dose of 20 meg IM 30 days later) is used in immunization against infection from all known subtypes of hepatitis B primary preexposure prophylaxis against hepatitis B or 

Immunization may be active or passive. Active immunization involves stimulation with an antigen to develop immunologic defenses against a future exposure. Passive immunization involves administration of preformed antibodies to an individual who is already exposed or is about to be exposed to an antigen.
