Another piperidone, (S)-3-hydroxypiperidin-2-one (11), was isolated from two coccinellid beetles Harmonia axyridis and Aiolocaria hexaspilota [26], together with harmonine (12), a compound previously reported from Harmonia leis conformis, Harmonia 4-punctata, Adonia variegata, Semiadalia 11-notata and Hippodamia convergens (Fig. 1) [12,13]. [Pg.185]

The ladybug, Hippodamia convergens, contains a novel aliphatic diamine, harmonine (121), identified as (Z)-l,17-diaminooctadec-9-ene, beside hippodamine (102), convergine (101), and n-octylamine (113). Harmonine (121) is also present in Harmonia leis conformis and other ladybugs (Table VIll). [Pg.202]
