In May 2001, the Danish city of Copenhagen established a first when it implemented a 30-meter-long high temperature superconductivity (HTS) cable in its own energy grids. Other small but successful implementations have occurred in the U.S. [Pg.71]

Figure 10 presents the temperature dependences of the tensile properties of superconducting cables of copper-plated Ti-40Nb and Ti-50Nb alloys. As temperature decreases to 70 to 30 K, all the parameters increase. At 4K, the ultimate strength and yield stress remain high, but the relative elongation decreases. [Pg.49]
