Storage stability Store DF in lead and wax-lined carboys, high-density polyethylene bottles, or nickel-lined containers in well-ventilated areas. Never store DF with alcohols DF will react with alcohols to form lethal chemicals, such as crude GB. Incompatible with water, glass, concrete, most metals, natural rubber, leather, and organic materials like glycols. The acidic corrosive hydrolysis products may react with metals, such as Al, Pb, and Fe, to give off hydrogen gas, a potential fire and explosive hazard. 

Absorption of methylparaben by plastics has also been reported the amount absorbed is dependent upon the type of plastic and the vehicle. It has been claimed that low-density and high-density polyethylene bottles do not absorb methylpar-aben. ...

Introduction of the ultra heat-treated (UHT) processes has led to dominance of sterile, cartoned milk in Europe. Pasteurised milk is the most common in many countries but the most popular packaging differs between countries, with cartons in Australia, high density polyethylene bottles in the USA and linear low density polyethylene pouches in Canada. The limiter of shelf-life of UHT milk is oxidation, so processes that reduce this will be of particular value. Pasteurised milk could benefit from antimicrobial packaging treatments. 

The samples (about 5 L) taken from an ordinary hydrocast are dispatched to the laboratory in purified high-density polyethylene bottles. Each sample is filtered through glass fibre filters of low porosity and sealed in the special ampoules of approximately 300mL volume as illustrated in Fig. 2-3. The filtration rate is regulated via the vacuum pump so that 80 % of the ampoule is filled in about 30 s. Residual drops of seawater in the neck of the ampoule are removed with filter paper before flame-sealing. The ampoules should be stored in the dark.

Ion-Free Water—Distill deionized water and store in tightly capped, high-density polyethylene bottles. 

Sample containers are clear or brown glass bottles, fluorinated high-density polyethylene bottles, or metal cans. The clear glass bottle is advantageous because it is easily examined visually for cleanliness, and also makes visud inspection of the sample for free water or solid impurities possible. The brown glass bottle affords some protection from light. The only cans acceptable are those with the seams soldered on the exterior surface.
