High-boiling grease

There are two types of GC columns that employ a liquid phase. Packed columns, usually 3 or 6mm ( l/8 or 14in.) in diameter and 2m C-6ft) long, are filled with an inactive solid coated with a high-boiling grease or oil or a similar compound bonded to the solid. Also, compounds having various... [Pg.275]

Properties Colorless liquid. D 1.186, bp 114 (2 mm Hg). Slightly soluble in water. Combustible. Use High-boiling solvent and extractant for oils, fats, waxes, and greases chemical intermediate. [Pg.1221]

The SA cosolvent usually will (or can) have a high boiling point (150 to 200°C, or more). At that temperature, substantial reduction of the viscosity of waxes, buffing compounds, greases, Cosmoline, and heavy oils can be achieved . [Pg.146]
