Heterogeneous catalysts cycloolefins

Summing up our research results on natural compound syntheses, we can state that the cometathesis of cycloolefins C5, and C7-C10 as well as cyclooctadiene with olefins in the presence of heterogeneous catalyst MoCl5/Si02 in combination with SnMc4 has been studied. [Pg.283]

Due to their ready availability and excellent catalytic properties, this type of catalyst has been extensively used in cycloolelin polymerization for several decades, resulting in important industrial applications such as manufacture of hydrocarbon resins [3, 17, 18], They are used mainly in homogeneous systems with adequate solvents but also heterogeneous catalysts are very active and promote cycloolefin polymerization to different reaction products, depending on the operation conditions. Generally, they are unicomponent, binary, ternary and multi-component catalytic systems and their final composition is strongly dependent on the nature and quality of the solvent, the reaction conditions and the monomer type and structure [1],... [Pg.101]

Copolymerization of these cyclic olefins with ethylene or a-olefins cycloolefin copolymers (COC) can be produced, representing a new class of thermoplastic amorphous materials [217-220]. Early attempts to produce such copolymers were made using heterogeneous TiCl4/VAlEt2Cl or vanadium catalysts, but first significant progress was... [Pg.36]

Copolymerization of cyclic olefins such as cyclopentene and norbomene with ethene or propene yield cycloolefin copolymers in which the presence of non-cyclic units introduce flexibility in the polymer chain. Thus, the copolymers are amorphous, processable, and soluble in common organic solvents. Early attempts at such copolymerizations were made by using heterogeneous TiCV AlEt2Cl or vanadium catalysts, but real advancements were made utilizing metallocenes and other single-site catalysts, which are about ten times more active than vanadium systems and other Ziegler-Natta catalysts. [Pg.120]
