Herring multiplication rule

The law of binary composition in (k) is the Herring multiplication rule, which is the Seitz rule for the multiplication of space-group elements supplemented by the additional condition that ( t) is to be replaced by ( 0) whenever exp(—ik t) = + 1. 

The direct sum in eq. (19) would not close without the Herring multiplication rule. 

To best examine a person s ability to use a balance, have him or her make multiple weighings (e.g., 10 times) using the same balance and weight. If he or she consistently makes the same type of error, the readings will have very little variation. If he or she makes a variety of random errors, the readings will vary with no consistent pattern or be caused by not preventing the effects of electrostatic forces (see Rule 11 below). 

A 49-year-old woman taking ciclosporin, prednisolone, and mycophenolate developed acute refractory rejection 4 days after renal transplantation. After an unsuccessful glucocorticoid pulse, her immunosuppressive regimen was successively changed to muromonab and tacrolimus with mycophenolate maintenance. Twelve days after transplantation she had abdominal pain and watery/bloody diarrhea. Colonoscopy showed multiple ulcers with mucosal injection and colon edema. A biopsy suggested ischemic cohtis and cytomegalovirus infection was ruled out. Her sjmptoms persisted until mycophenolate was withdrawn and further colonoscopy showed complete resolution. 

Second, if for some reactions multiple experimental data are available, kinetic parameters obtained by different authors using different methods as a rule are not in a close agreement, and in some cases are even contradictory. In this case we have to employ some reference argumentation in order to choose the one to be used. Some criteria for such selection are already discussed in Sections I.D and III.B. In any case, the final decision about each value is going to be taken by a particular investigator, no matter if he/she gives credence to the authors of preceding studies or makes his/her own evaluations. 

My favorite scene in the whole movie may very well be the moment when Xenia shoots the hell out of everyone at the GoldenEye satellite station or whatever the hell it is and gets visibly, um, excited while doing so. She shoots people and has multiple orgasms. And her companion, that Russian general with a shoe for a nose, just looks at her like, Okay. No more shooting for you. She rules. 

The total number of 237 latent conditions was categorized into 10 groups. Two local workplaces did not include inadequate conditions of operators because the investigation reports did not mention such. Inadequate conditions of operators were the most common latent conditions. Inadequate or deviation from rules were the second most common latent conditions (Table 3). Among inadequate conditions of operators, psychological conditions counted for 51 out of 57, which included multiple factors (Table 4). Assumptions accormted for 42 out of 51 psychological conditions. The most frequent pattern of assumptions was that operators assumed that another vessel would take colhsion avoidance action or alter her course and/or reduce her speed (Table 5).
