Hemorrhagic pericarditis

Cardiovascular Cardiac tamponade resulting from hemorrhagic pericarditis has been attributed to abdximab [145 ].

This should be initiated once oliguric ATN has been established - and performed on an intermittent basis. Mental status abnormalities, pericarditis, gastrointestinal and hemorrhagic disorders are indications for dialysis other indications are fluid overload and hyperkalemia. Non-oliguric patients in general do not require as many dialyses as do patients with oliguria generally because hyperkalemia is not a problem.

Cautions Recent major surgery (Coronary artery bypass graft, OB delivery, organ biopsy), cerebrovascular disease, recent GI or GU bleeding, hypertension, mitral stenosis with atrial fibrillation, acute pericarditis, bacterial endocarditis, hepatic/renal impairment, diabetic retinopathy, ophthalmic hemorrhaging, septic thrombophlebitis, occluded AV cannula at an infected site, advanced age, those receiving oral anticoagulants... 

Pericarditis causes pain, which is expected, but hemorrhaging could be an adverse effect of NSAIDs and warrants immediate intervention. 

When cadmium exposure continues past the onset of early kidney damage (manifested as proteinuria), chronic nephrotoxicity may occur (Meridian Research, Inc. 1989 Roth Associates, Inc. 1989). Uremia, which is the loss of the glomerulus ability to adequately filter blood, may result. This condition leads to severe disturbance of electrolyte concentrations, which may result in various clinical complications including atherosclerosis, hypertension, pericarditis, anemia, hemorrhagic tendencies, deficient cellular immunity, bone changes, and other problems. Progression of the disease may require dialysis or a kidney transplant.
