Visual and chemical cues interact in foraging by natricine snakes. Even visual cues alone can elicit prey attack, especially in aquatic foraging (Drummond, 1985). Aposematic color patterns of prey enhance the learning of prey that induces illness. Garter snakes, Thamnophis radix hay deni, were exposed to fish and earthworms presented on black-and-yellow forceps, and then inj ected with lithium chloride (LiCl). Control prey was offered on green forceps. Later, the snakes avoided food from either forceps, but the aversion to prey paired with black-andyellow was stronger (Terrick etal, 1995). 

Maximal plasma values of 1.5 and 9.6 mg/L, respectively. Calves fed grain and hay from a PCP-treated feeder for 10 days contained plasma PCP levels of 1.1 mg/L, but levels returned to normal after access to feeder was denied (Osweiler etal. 1984)... 

Credit for the idea of Earth Day 1970 goes to Senator Gayiord Neison of Wisconsin. But having an important idea of this kind and seeing that it is actuaiiy carried out are two different matters, in the case of Earth Day 1970, much of the day-to-day work that made this event pos-sibie was coordinated by Denis Hayes. 

Denis Hayes was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, on August 29,1944. He earned his A.B. degree from Stanford University in 1969. At the time that Neison made his first speech about Earth Day, Hayes was enroiied at Harvard University s Kennedy School of Government. Called upon by Nelson and other Earth Day organizers, however, Hayes left Harvard and became national coordinator of Earth Day. Because of his intimate involvement with the environmental movement, it was another 15 years before Hayes was able to complete his graduate studies. In 1985, he was also awarded his degree in environmental law from Stanford. Between 1983 and 1988, Hayes was adjunct professor of engineering at Stanford.
