Hard landscaping

Consider the environmental implications when choosing materials for hard landscaping, soil improving, and so forth. 

Hie garden framework Lumber and stone usually make up the "hard landscaping" of the garden, while plants could be termed the "soft furnishings." There are design choices to be made hedges and lawns, for example, are "soft" alternatives to fences and paving.

It s hard to overestimate the damage to the environment that has been wrought by agricultural intensification during the last half-century.
