Gull wing

The gate drive transformer will be bifilar wound where two identieal wires (about 30AWG) will be wound simultaneously with equal turns. For eonve-nienee, the transformer will be mounted on a four-pin, gull wing, surfaee mount header.

Modern extending screeds are capable of even handling positive or negative gull wing profiles, known as M or W profiles (Joseph Vogele AG 2014). 

In some very thick tapes, the top layer causes gull wing curling. The most extreme case of this rail formation occurs when the carrier forms the gull wing shape while the bottom of the cast is still fluid. In this case, the center of the cast can be very thin, while the thickness at one-quarter and three-quarters across the width of the tape is very high. 

Small outline 1C (SOIC), 8-28 pin packages, commonly 0.050-in pin spacing, with gull wing leads. This package style is about 50-70% of the size of a standard dual inline package (DIP) part (30% as thick). 

Small outline package (SOP), a package with two rows of narrowly spaced gull-wing leads (same as SOIC). 

Shrink small outhne IC (SSOIC), a plastic package with gull-wing leads on two sides, with a lead... 

Very small outline (VSO), usually used to denote 25-mil pitch packages with gull-wing leads.

GuUwing An SMD lead shape as shown in Fig. 11.18 for SOPs and QFPs, and in Fig. 11.26. So called because it looks like a gulls wing in flight. 

PQFPs have their leads formed in a gull-wing fashion (see Fig. 3.7), while PLCCs have their leads in the shape of a J, which are formed (i.e., folded) underneath the package. 

Component recognition is typically obtained from the configuration of the I/Os. The I/O configuration includes two attributes the I/O s shape, whether it is a beam lead, gull-wing...
