Guards for horizontal overhead rope and chain drives. Overhead-rope and chain-drive guard construction shall conform to the rules for overhead-belt guard. [Pg.434]

The bearings are W ater lubricated. The typical materials of construction are carbon, copper alloys, bakelite and ceramics. The mechanical seals, like a double oil seal protected w ith a cap called a Sand Guard, are robust and perfect in sealing the inotor to prevent the entry of pumped... [Pg.173]

A weather-protected Type I machine is a guarded machine with its ventilating passages so constructed as to minimize the entrance of rain, snow and air-borne particles to the electric parts. [Pg.648]

On August 14, 2002, a 1-in chlorine transfer hose (CTH) used in a rail-car offloading operation at DPC Enterprises in Festus, Missouri, catastrophically ruptured and initiated a sequence of events that led to the release of 48,000 lb of chlorine into neighboring areas. The material of construction of the ruptured hose was incorrect. The distributor fabricated bulk CTH with Schedule 80 Monel 400 end fittings and a high-density polyethylene spiral guard. Three hoses were shipped directly to the Festus facility from the distributor two were put into service on June 15, 2002. The hose involved in the incident failed after 59 days in service. [Pg.6]

Lloyd Matter had placed remotely controllable cameras in the clinical area. He also mounted one on a tall, specially constructed TV tower just outside. It provided excellent telephoto views of the guard gate, foxhole, approaching helicopter or smoke grenade, depending on the focus of interest. Measure the concentration of analyte in several identical aliquots (portions). The purpose of replicate measurements (repeated measurements) is to assess the variability (uncertainty) in the analysis and to guard against a gross error in the analysis of a single aliquot. The uncertainty of a measurement is as important as the measurement itself, because it tells us how reliable the measurement is. If necessary, use different analytical methods on similar samples to make sure that all methods give the same result and that the choice of analytical method is not biasing the result. You may also wish to construct and analyze several different bulk samples to see what variations arise from your sampling procedure. [Pg.8]

The Florida research station was established in 1958 on the Ponce de Leon Lighthouse Reservation near Port Orange on land made available to the Department of the Interior by the U. S. Coast Guard. Approximately s/4 acre is fenced in and accessible for the construction of solar stills. [Pg.169]
