Group of Seven

In Figure 16 the elution profiles for samples from each group of seven plates are included together with the overall composite peak from the total charge. The calculations assumed a column efficiency of 5000 theoretical plates. The elution... [Pg.192]

In order to prove the efficiency of the liposomal system in tumor therapy (administration of the liposomes after tumor induction), seven animals were treated with 2 x 10 B16 tumor cells (injection of a suspension in 200 pL HBSS into tail vein). After four and seven days the formulation [AVE 3 TRP-2 (10 pg TRP-2) and AVE 3 1826 CpG (1.3 pg CpG)] was given into the foot pad of the hind legs of the mice intradermally. Twenty-one days after the injection of the tumor cells, the animals were sacrificed and the metastases in the prepared lungs were counted. A second group of seven animals received the tumor cells, but no liposomal treatment was applied. Table 2 indicates the high antitumor potency of the formulation. [Pg.218]

For each IC50 bin, the percentage of compounds that list the ADR was calculated as percent ADR positive. For each group of seven IC50 bins, a Spearman rank correlation coefficient was calculated for the percent ADR positive relative to the bin rank. A strong Spearman correlation indicates a dose response in the ADR association. [Pg.195]

Groups of seven-week-old (12 conventional and 12 germ-free) female Fischer rats received 20 weekly subcutaneous injections of 10 mg/kg bw 1,2-dimethylhydrazine and were autopsied one week after the last injection. Another group of 24 conventional and 18 germ-free rats received the same treatment but were killed 20 weeks after the last injection. None of the germ-free rats that were autopsied after the last injection of 1,2-dimethylhydrazine had developed colon tumours, while 2/12 conventional rats showed adenocarcinoma. At 40 weeks, all colon tumours in germ-free rats were adenomas, whereas in conventional rats, four out of a total of six colon tumours were adenocarcinomas (Table 7) (Reddy et al., 1974). [Pg.957]

For example, to determine the number of three-letter combinations from a group of seven letters (.ABCDEFGH), use the following values n = 7 and r = 3. [Pg.168]

Therefore there are 35 three-letter combinations from a group of seven letters. [Pg.168]

We have devoted so much space to this group of seven papers to clearly underline their weaknesses with respect both to the often contradictory information and to the mechanisms proposed. For example, the problem of the selfionisation of the acid, so basic to the mechanism postulated thereafter, is alternatively treated by different equi-libria and moreover the actual values of conductivity are changed from the first paper to the last without a clear explanation of the origin of the discrepancy. On the specific problem of solvent purification we feel that the treatment with calcium hydride might have introduced some basic impurities of hydride or hydroxide carried over in the distillation. This would explain the lower conductivity and the lower polymerisation rates, since the real acid concentration would be appreciably lower than the nominal one, given the fact that the amount of acid used was very small (ctmc. [Pg.71]

First attempts to experimentally reproduce CHN failed two groups of seven Wistar rats were orally administered either pure aristolochic adds (10 mg/kg for 5 days a week during 3 months) or herbs powders (containing AA) mixed with fenfluramine. At sacrifice animals in both groups had developed the expected tumors but not fibrosis of the renal interstitium [61]. However, when 12 female New Zeeland whife rabbits were injected intraperitoneaUy with 0.1 mg aristolochic acids per kg, 5 days a week, for 17 to 21 months, they developed a severe hypocellular interstitial fibrosis, urothelial atypias and, in 3 of them, tumors of the urinary tract [62]. [Pg.761]

A group of seven volunteers given 10 exposures of CS from 1 to 13mgm in a period of 15 days revealed no clinical abnormalities. The dominant effect of the first exposure remained the dominant effect on subsequent exposures. None of the volunteers developed a tolerance to CS during the 10 exposures. [Pg.2298]
