Grey literature

Based on a review of published and grey literature on this issue, it can be concluded that the ban of mineral N-fertilisers and synthetic pesticides on the one hand, and the low level of nitrogen cycling within the farm because of low livestock densities on the other, are important contributions which organic farming makes to water protection. [Pg.52]

The activities described in this section are sponsored by the United Nations (notably UNEP, the United Nations Environment Programme), OECD (the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) and the Commission of the European Communities. The services mentkmed provide access to much unpublished or grey literature and to individual expertise in addition to giving details of conventionally published material. [Pg.65]

System for Information on Grey Literature in Europe (SIGLE)... [Pg.71]

SIGLE is a grey literature database which contains records from 1981 to date. It covers all subject areas but much technical information is included. The United Kingdom input is made by the British Library and is the online equivalent of British Reports, Translations and Theses. SIGLE is also available as a CD-ROM from Silver-Platter. [Pg.71]

This paper aims at giving an overview of PFC concentrations found in European surface, ground- and drinking waters. Furthermore, an overview of characteristic sources of PFCs to the environment is given. Because peer-reviewed literature available on the presence and behavior of PFCs in European ground- and drinking water is still scarce some grey literature was also included, such as reports and websites of official institutions. Where necessary, data from outside Europe were also used to illustrate specific contamination examples for which no data exist in Europe. [Pg.76]

Scientists are just beginning to collect data on the presence of microbeads in the environment. Much of that work has been done in and around the Great Lakes in North America. The work was ongoing while this book was being written consequently, some of the information below originated in the "grey literature" rather than conventional peer-reviewed sources. [Pg.188]

Lord, C.R. 2000. Guide to Information Sources in Engineering. Englewood, CO Libraries Unlimited. This book is divided up by format (handbooks, grey literature, journals, Internet resources, etc.) and then subdivided by engineering specialty. Aeronautical and aerospace entries have their own section under most formats. [Pg.50]
