Codes GREMAS

The resulting GREMAS codes of this example are shown in Figure 11. There are constant and possibly present three-letter codes and constant and possibly present Y-codes. A detailed description of the GREMAS codes would exceed the scope of this paper and will not be given here. 

Topological search method derived from mathematic procedures in order to retrieve (and store) chemical substructures, is used e.g, together with the -y GREMAS code. 

As the next syntactic device let us consider three-position descriptors, each position of which provides information of a particular kind. These pieces of information are firmly associated in one term, which creates an especially close connection between them. Such terms have proved successful in the fragment code GREMAS for chemical structures and also for the documentation of patent literature in the fields of plant protection and agriculture (see Figure 5).

Generation of the GREMAS fragment codes has to be done manually for queries and for input of the file structures... 

The secondary specification (see Figure 8) gives the full description of the carbon atom according to the rules of the GREMAS system with a three-letter code.
