The bed depth required is usually from 24 to 36 in. and the subfill gravel layer from 15 to 21 in.

Besides the above stratigraphic structures, liquefactions were also found in some sandy gravel layers as shown in Figure 10. Yuan Xiaoming and other scholars had pointed out that there are more than ten liquefaction sites with sandy gravels spouted out, and the maximum diameter of these gravels reaches up to 3 10 cm. 

In the first example, a geomembrane is considered installed on a d2 = 0.30 m thick mineral subgiade with a permeability factor of /t=10 m/s. In the geomembrane there is a hole with a radius of R = 5 nun. A 30 cm drainage gravel layer and aim thick reclamation layer over the geomembrane ensure an overburden greater than 10 kPa.
