SCE increases absolute colony number and surviving fraction of CEU-E, CEU-G, and CEU-GM in kradiated human BM. An increase in the fraction of CDSd cells in the radioresistant S-phase has been noted, which suggests a possible mechanism (184). A cautionary note has been sounded about attempting to predict interactions between SCE and CSEs in hemopoieticaHy deprived individuals (185). Although SCE synergizes with GM-CSE or GM-CSE and lL-3 to increase CEU-GM in vitro, no such effect has been found in vivo. 

PVP K-15 and K-30 peaks are symmetric in water and water/methanol, except for the TSK GM-PWxl column in water. This suggests an interaction between PVP K-15 and K-30 with the TSK GM-PWxl column in water. System peaks overlap with the low molecular weight tails of the PVP K-15 and K-30 peaks for all four columns in water. In water/methanol the separation of the system peaks from the polymer peaks is much better for all four columns. 

PVP K-120 peaks are distorted at the high molecular weight end for tht TSK-PW column in water and in water/methanol. The distortion is more severe in water than in water/methanol. If the distortion is caused by poor separation of the TSK GM-PW column, then the distortion should be more severe in water/methanol than in water, as it was shown earlier that the resolution should be better in water than in water/methanol. The distortion is probably caused by interaction between PVP K-120 and the TSK GM-PW column. There is a high molecular weight shoulder in the PVP K-90 peak for the TSK GM-PW column, especially in water. This may be the reason why M for PVP K 90 determined with the TSK GM-PW column are higher than from the other columns, as shown in Tables 17.3-17.6.

As for the trap density, a lower limit of 1018 cm-3 has been taken, based on the fall of trapped electron yield in hydrocarbon glasses at a dose 1020 eV/gm (Willard, 1975).
