Glycosaminoglycans. Long, unbranched polysaccharide chains composed of repeating disaccharide subunits in which one of the two sugars is either /V-acetylglucosamine or /V-acetylgalac-tosamine. [Pg.912]

Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are unbranched chains having repeating disaccharide units, which, with the exception of keratan sulfate, contain an acid and a base.
