Glycolysis, scheme

Most of the enzymes mediating the reactions of the Calvin cycle also participate in either glycolysis (Chapter 19) or the pentose phosphate pathway (Chapter 23). The aim of the Calvin scheme is to account for hexose formation from 3-phosphoglycerate. In the course of this metabolic sequence, the NADPH and ATP produced in the light reactions are consumed, as indicated earlier in Equation (22.3). [Pg.733]

The glycerol metabolism is closely related to the glycolysis involving glycerol metabolites according to the following scheme ... [Pg.195]

This metabolic scheme, which is called lactate fermentation, is shown in Fig. 11-7. The coreactant cycle between the two dehydrogenase enzymes, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (Step 6) and lactate dehydrogenase, ensures that there is regeneration of NAD+ in this particular oxidation state so that glycolysis, lactate fermentation, and the production of ATP can continue. [Pg.321]

The most important chemolysis methods so far developed to reverse the polyurethane polymerization reaction shown in Scheme 2.2 are glycolysis and hydrolysis. These processes are reviewed next, together with other less widely investigated treatments. [Pg.46]
