Glutamine Glutamyl-transferase

Elliott, W. H. Isolation of Glutamine synthetase and glutamyl-transferase from green peas. J. Biol. Chem. 201, 661 (1953). [Pg.269]

Protein glutamine-y-glutamyl transferase (transglutaminase, TGase) catalyzes the acyl transfer between the y-carboxyamide group of peptide-bound glutamine (acyl donor) and primary amines (acyl acceptor, I in Formula 2.114), e. g., peptide-bound lysine (II in Formula 2.114). Free... [Pg.154]

Transglutaminases (EC 2.3.2.13, TG, TGase, protein-glutamine y-glutamyl-transferase) are a group of intracellular and... [Pg.230]

Neither glutamine nor glutamyl naphthylamide are substrates. The specificity requirements for the acceptor are considerably more demanding in that acyl transfer to water (hydrolysis) or to hydroxylamine is not observed under any conditions. The transferase was separated chromatographically from an enzyme capable of hydrolyzing glutamyl naphthylamide which conceivably is related to the previously described transpeptidase. [Pg.97]
