Enzymatic process is the main method to produce cyclodextrins (CDs), and so far, chemical methods have been reported. CD is industrially produced from starch, glucogen, malto-oligosaccharides, and other dextrins through catalysis by cyclodextrin glucosyl transferase (CGTase).
