Glucosyl Phosphate as Glycosyl Donor

A biosynthetic path which involves an oxidation-reduction process plays an important role in maintaining the metabolism of living systems. The enzymes responsible for the oxidation-reduction process are called oxidoreductases which normally require an oxidant or a reductant as reacting chemiral species for substrates. Although there have been many publications on eri2ymatic oxidations or reductions in biochemistry or synthetic organic chemistry, it is only in recent years that oxidoreductases have first been utilized for polymerizations. [Pg.21]
