Excellent correlation was found when results at 660 nm and 749 nm were compared using a reference hexokinase glucose method (27). The dose response was excellent up to 300 mg/dL glucose. In general, water-borne coatings do not lend themselves to ranging by antioxidants (qv).

Some additional experiments have been conducted in which a direct analysis was employed.27 Cellulosic materials were boiled in 2.5 N sulfuric acid for varying times and the hydrolyzates were quantitatively examined for glucose. A modification of the glucose method of Hassid28 was employed. This approach was designed to give more accurate information on the early stages of the hydrolysis than could be obtained by other methods.

As an example of 1 2-chromation by the dichromate-glucose method [20], the azo dye obtained by coupling of diazotized l-amino-2-hydroxy-5-nitrobenzene with l-methylsulfonylamino-7-hydroxynaphthalene is dissolved in dilute NaOH and boiled after addition of K2Cr20r2H20 and glucose. Chromation is complete after a few minutes. The resulting 1 2 chromium complex 12 [83748-22-5] is precipitated with NaCl to give a black powder that imparts bluish olive dyeings on wool in a weakly acidic dyebath. 

In the microadaptation of this method, 50 pi of the sample is prediluted to 1.0 ml. This total volume is added to the sample cup. The analysis rate is reduced to twenty determinations per hour, which, along with the larger sample pick-up tube, results in the complete utilization of the diluted sample. Apparently the membrane area in a single dialyzer unit allows a sufficiently adequate amount of urea to transfer to the recipient stream to conduct the analysis. This compares with the need for additional dialyzing surface required in the microadaptation of the glucose method. 

Incompatibilities poorly compatible with citric acid, saccharose solutions, and saturated sodium bicarbonate solutions. Incompatible with ascorbic acid, gelatin, and glucose. Method of manufacture diazotized sulfanilic acid is coupled with Schaeffer s salt (sodium salt of (3-naphthol-6-sulfonic acid).
