Glow discharge-sector field mass spectrometry

Glow discharge-sector field mass spectrometry (GD-SFMS) provides low limits of detection ( ng/g) and high mass resolution (up to 10,000) which helps to overcome problems due to molecular species formed in the plasma which can appear at the same nominal mass as the peaks of interest. Nevertheless, the fact that all GD-SFMS systems are sequential in nature is a serious limitation for the analysis of fast signals (e.g., depth profiling studies). [Pg.947]
