Glass-fiber grades with modified chemistries (such as PPG s TufRov 4576) allow higher composite properties—and thus potentially require lower amounts of coupling agent. 

Glass-fiber-reinforced (increased stiffness and tensile strength) and mineral filled (reduced shrink and warp) grades also have been developed. 

Mechanical Properties. Properties of typical grades of PBT, either as unfiUed neat resin, glass-fiber fiUed, and FR-grades, are set out in Table 8. This table also includes impact-modified grades which incorporate dispersions of elastomeric particles inside the semicrystalHne polyester matrix. These dispersions act as effective toughening agents which greatly improve impact properties. The mechanisms are not fiiUy understood in all cases. The subject has been discussed in detail (171) and the particular case of impact-modified polyesters such as PBT has also been discussed (172,173).

SRM 1868 consists of a set of two common bulk mine-grade asbestos materials chrysotile and amosite, contained in matrices simulating building materials (calcium carbonate and glass fiber), in quantities at just below the U.S. ERA regulatory limit of I %. This material is certified by weight for the quantity of each asbestos material present. 

Filter flow rate was compared between 42-mm diameter, 0.45-/zm Selas Ag filters and 0.86-cm X 5.78-cm, 0.3-/zm Balston glass-fiber filter tubes, grade AA. Samples were pumped at a constant pressure of 30 psi of N2 gas through each filter filtrate was collected as a function of time.
