Getting started with the DB system

This program is used to start a new database. It writes each of the files and sets the number of gels and contigs to zero. The files it creates are described below but note that the version number will be set to 0. [Pg.349]

Type project name (only six characters for our file naming conventions). [Pg.349]

Each sequencing project is given a name for its files. Local file naming conventions will determine how names are set up. In our system file names are of the form ABCDEF.GHI We give each project a 6-character name, for example, LAMBDA DBSTART will then automatically name our file of relationships LAMBDA.RLO, the file containing the archived gel [Pg.349]
