Gathering Evidence for the Safety Case

Evidence is an essential part of the safety case, in fact without it its claims can be considered invalid. Evidence comes in many forms as has already been pointed out in this book. The challenge for safety case authors is gathering that material together in a way that justifies its claims without overburdening the reader with detailed data. Using test evidence to support the safety case has already been set out in Sect. 16.3. This chapter turns to other sources and looks at how evidence can be set out in a manner which is compelling to the reader. [Pg.249]
