Now that everyone understands the role they will play, it is time to take the team to the work area where the kaizen team will observe the targeted work process. Notice that this step is called team orientation on the process map. This is the facilitator s opportunity to ask the process expert to both brief the team on any safety hazards they should be aware of, and to introduce the team to their co-workers in the area. The co-workers should be gathered together and briefed on what the team s object for the event will be. Keeping all the workers in the area informed of the team s actions will help to guarantee their acceptance of the changes to come. 

Internally it is anticipated that much information will be drawn from safety advisers who have a key role In gathering and passing on safety information. Further information is likely to be available from the facilities management team, human resources/personnel department, occupational health teams, etc. Each company will differ in the roles that Its departments or teams undertake and the size of the organisation.
